INSTALLATION FOR MOTORHOMES
If your RV is determined to be capable of carrying the weight of your motorcycle, installation of the Rampage RV Lift is less involved and less expensive than any other lifting device on the market. Any good, certified welder in your community should be able to easily install the lift. If you prefer, we have over 130 experienced installers nationwide. We provide complete, step by step instructions including pictures and drawings and we are available 7 days a week to answer any questions.
Step 1 Requires two receiver tubes to be securely welded to the frame rails of your RV. We provide complete instructions for this process. Unlike other lift companies, the original tow receiver on your RV is not removed or effected in any way.
Step 2 Right and left support arms, provided by us are inserted into the two receiver tubes mentioned in step 1 above. These support arms are engineered and designed to safely carry the weight of the main carrier base and your motorcycle. Depending on the height of your existing receiver, the main carrier base will be about 18"above your existing receiver or about 35" above the ground. Dragging the bottom of the Rampage RV Lift will not be a problem.
Step 3 The main carrier base, as one unit, is then attached to the two support arms mentioned in step 2 above. If you wish to easily remove the entire lift from your RV, then the main carrier base is bolted. It can also be welded if you prefer. The 2500 Pd electric winch is already installed on the main carrier base as is the front wheel cradle. Everything on the lift section comes ready to go.
Step 4 Complete wiring is provided to connect the 2500 Pd winch to the RV batteries on a diesel pusher, or the generator feed on gas model RV's. At the winch end of the wiring is 1/2 of a quick connect. You simply cut
the wire to the required length and crimp the supplied battery connectors on the other end of the wire. The other 1/2 of the quick connect is on the wire from the winch. This allows you to easily remove the lift from the RV. Supplying power to the winch could not be easier. The 12 foot remote switch cord is just plugged into the power box next to the winch and can easily be removed for security purposes.
Step 5 A standard trailer tail light kit is provided. The lights are bolted to the end of each support arm and plug into the tail light connector on the RV. The motorcycle or lift itself will probably block the tail lights and turn signals on the RV. These lights are only used when you are not towing another vehicle behind the lift. When towing another vehicle, you plug the lights from the car into the RV.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
The Rampage RV Lift will be shipped by common carrier. We usually ship direct to your installer because a fork lift is necessary to remove it from the delivery truck. If you prefer, it can be picked up at the shipping terminal. The pallet size is 96 x 24 x 24. The lift itself comes completely assembled. The support system which attaches to your motorhome and supports the lift is shipped separate by UPS or FedEx Ground. Although shipping rates have escalated, we have substantial discounts with major shipping companies which we pass on to our customers.
